Born in Arezzo, soprano Silvia Vajente boasts an eclectic music background: solo vocalist with a blooming international career, professional oboist until the year 2000, musicologist, singing teacher and choir director. For some time now she has been complementing her performing activity with teaching: she is an teacher at the  Three-year BM Degree in Opera Singing at CaMu Arezzo, of singing technique at the Advanced School for Choir Directors of the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation, and she has taught ensemble music at Arezzo's Liceo Musicale Statale. She founded and directs the Viscantus vocal ensemble, and since 2016 she leads DIMA's “A viva voce” choir workshop for adults. In the same year she started with colleague Silvia Martini the experimental “Musica e Teatro” school project, supported by the City of Arezzo and held in various local school and through private workshops.
